The end and another beginning
In January I wrote of the series of paintings I had begun, “Music in The Mountains”, inspired by a summer of traditional music in the Catskill Mountains and making use of the sketches I made while I watched musicians bend in concentration and dancers whirl around me. The warmer weather finally allowed me to return to the work that I had to leave in the late fall, 2008. Those two canvases, to be viewed as one, are complete.
I was most anxious to finish those first canvases of the series because my mind wanted to move to the next canvas of the series, “The Clogger”. An image of that canvas now in process is in the Flickr photos.
